Description

Wall of limestone ashlar obtained from one of the facades of the Golden Gate of Diocletian’s Palace in Spalato (Split) (3rd century). This construction technique was used for a considerable part of the Roman Empire in the main buildings of various cities. The ashlars are well-squared.

Although the wall dates back to the 3rd century, this construction technique can be used across a wide chronological range.
