Description

Virtual recreation of two Renaissance-era bookcases, based on those preserved in the Casa Museo Lope de Vega in Madrid.

In the 16th century, bookcases or bookcases were mainly made of noble wood such as walnut and were usually large and robust, designed to support the weight of numerous volumes bound in parchment or leather. They were often made to measure to suit the specific dimensions and needs of a library. They could also be elaborately decorated.
