Description

A collection of ceramic tableware for common use based on current typological catalogues from different archaeological studies.

They were everyday tableware and there was a wide variety of pieces depending on their daily use, including plates, bowls, jugs, cups, pots, lids and storage vessels; many of them were decorated with glazes, enamels, engobes or simply lacked them.

Pottery is per se, a non-perishable material that lasts over time and gives us a wealth of information when documented in the archaeological record. It gives us details about the time or period of use, manufacturing techniques, production, pottery workshops, trade relationships and cultural influences.
