A second life for scientific virtual reconstruction assets
This online repository was created with the aim of offering historical 3D objects both for informative purposes and for professional use integrated into other projects. Thanks to Alveus XR, virtual reconstructions of objects take on a new life and are put at the service of knowledge of our history and the development of professional heritage virtualization projects.
Alveus XR is a project born with the aim of offering a second life to those 3D objects that have been used in scientific virtual reconstructions. We are a team that, for more than 10 years, has been working to rebuild what once was. Virtual reconstructions such as that of the Plaza del Azoguejo in Segovia in the s. XVI, that of the archaeological site of Cerro Bilanero, or that of Emperor Constantine I, require the use of 3D objects of high historical precision and visual quality, characteristics that are often difficult to find combined in currently existing repositories.
Thus, we have decided to update, improve and prepare for dissemination and sale the reconstruction assets such as the Palacio de los marqueses de Berlanga de Duero, also expanding the documentation of all these pieces and presenting it in a clear and orderly manner.
The objective is twofold: on the one hand, to offer the general public the visualization and understanding of collections of 3D objects, also for educational purposes, so that thanks to integrated 3D viewers and informative images, the historical objects of their use; on the other, to present collections of 3D assets to a specialized professional audience that may be interested in acquiring these objects to use in their work. To do this, all our models are optimized and game ready, that is, they are prepared to be easily used within game engines -sometimes including small animations- and have different levels of detail (LOD) and texture resolution ( 1K, 2K, 4K and 8K). In addition, we offer three types of licenses: non-commercial personal use, self-employed / company and large company, so that the models can be more accessible depending on the use they are going to be given and the person who acquires them.
