#EneRoma3D, a project that sowed the seed of Alveus XR
In January 2021, Pablo Aparicio set himself the challenge of reconstructing a Roman object in 3D every day for the entire month. That improvised project became, over time, Alveus XR.
Social networks can be a terrible place but also an exciting space to give rise to future projects. In 2021, in full lockdown, Pablo Aparicio (@par_virtual) began a self-challenge on Twitter: #EneRoma3D. It consisted of creating a new 3D object from Roman times every day. Each day of that month he designed and shared a different object or groups of objects on this social network, giving rise to a wide collection of 3D pieces that were perfect for the setting of a rigorous Roman virtual reconstruction.
This large group of objects constitutes the seed of Alveus XR, the first online repository of historical 3D assets. Two years have passed since then: a lot of conceptualization work on the project, web design, preparation of a series of models with sufficient rigor and visual quality… but finally, here it is and it will continue to grow. We hope you find it interesting!
